Rev. Trent Lloyd

Trent Lloyd grew up in northern Indiana but has settled right in to being a Kentuckian. A graduate of Huntington University and Candler School of Theology, he has a heart for engaging with people who are new to church or feel “done” with church, having planted a church in Atlanta with his older brother. He loves planning and leading worship and encouraging systems of discipleship. He also plays the piano and spent years leading worship in various churches. He was ordained an elder in the KAC in 2017.

Katie Lloyd moved to Kentucky as a child and grew up in Oldham county. She has a heart for children and families. She’s worked with refugee children and youth as well as special needs children and youth both in and outside the church. She cares deeply about foster care and adoption. She was ordained an elder in the KAC in 2016. A proud Birmingham- Southern College and Candler School of Theology alumna, she loves presiding over the sacraments and encouraging youth and children to ask big questions.

Katie and Trent have an almost two year old daughter named Eliza and a newborn son named James Ellis. They enjoy running, hiking, camping, traveling, and playing with their muppet looking dog, Wendell. They are greatly looking forward to working together in a church and to putting down roots in Shelbyville.

Kay Burney   
Director of Worship and Discipleship Ministries

Kay joined the staff at Centenary UMC in 2012, and is blessed to serve alongside this caring congregation. A native of Oklahoma, Kay and her husband, Rev. Kevin Burney, have lived in Kentucky since their seminary days. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Church of Music, and has served several churches across Kentucky.

Kevin and Kay have two adult sons, a daughter-in-love, and two grandsons. They enjoy their family, music, baseball, reading, travel, and their dog, Moxie.

Amanda Shirley

Office Manager

Amanda was born in Elizabethtown KY but grew up in the suburbs of Chicago.  She joined the Navy at the age of 18 served six years active duty; was deployed one time during her service.  After being honorably discharged she moved back to Elizabethtown KY to be near her family.  She received her AAS in Business Administration from Elizabethtown Community College.

Amanda is a mother of four and a grandmother of one.  They moved to Shelbyville in February 2017 and have been attending Centenary UMC since August 2017.  She came on as office manager in December of 2017. She also oversees the Assistance Program that assists members of our congregation and the Shelby Co. community.  Her office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-2:00pm.

Reesa Headley

Children's Ministry Director

Reesa Headley is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and currently works for Humana Insurance Company. She moved to Louisville in 2010 and married Nick Headley in 2011. Both have known each other since middle school in Owensboro KY. Reesa is a mother of two (Lenora and Sterling) and devoted wife. The Headley family have been members of Centenary United Methodist Church since 2013. She has been an active member of the Children’s Ministry Team for 6 years serving as a teacher for the preschool and K-2 classes. She has been the Children’s Storyteller during VBS for the last 3 years and enjoys making the kids smile and feel engaged. Reesa has also been an active member of the Fellowship Team for 4 years, 3 of those years as the Fellowship Chair. She is excited to come on board and throw in some creative ideas alongside her amazing team of teachers.

Staci Bryan
Nursery

Staci is a native of Shelbyville and grew up attending Olive Branch UMC. She married Sean Bryan in the Fall of 2022 and they welcomed their son, Arthur, the following Summer. Staci loves spending time with her family, whether going for walks or cuddling up and watching a movie.

Staci is a certified paraeducator that was employed by Shelby County Public Schools as an instructional assistant for students with moderate-to-severe disabilities until October 2023, when she resigned from her full-time position to raise her newborn. She loved teaching but is excited about this new chapter in life of motherhood and homemaking.

Staci is delighted to be on staff at CUMC where she cares for children in the nursery by loving, nurturing, and teaching them while helping to create a foundation for their spiritual growth.
